In Philippians 4:8, we find the solution to every worry we every experience. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” (NIV)
God does not want us to waste our emotions, our time, and our energy fretting and worrying and imagining upsetting things. God has a more excellent way for us, and He provides through this Scripture, the perfect solution to our worried and frenzied thoughts.
Are you in the midst of a situation that disturbs your thoughts and is causing you to feel anxious and worry? Come into God’s presence today and spend one hour with Him. Search through the Scriptures and ask God to show you a verse or a passage that can be your anchor during this turbulent storm.
Then, each time you find yourself worrying or fretting about your particular situation, choose to think about your Scripture verse instead. Focus on God’s promises instead of Satan’s attacks. Fix your mind on the noble and right truth found in God’s Word instead of on the fickle and unreliable emotions of your heart.
Think about such things. The peace of God will fill your heart.
